NRT goes to the 'Cabaret'

Singing, dancing and Nazis: No repayment Theater will perform “Cabaret” this weekend at 9:20 tonight, 8 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday in 111 Forum.

Admission to the performance is gratis, but donations are accepted to help NRT with its future productions.

Director Alex Principe said he initially wanted to direct an adaptation of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” for the Halloween weekend show, but Disney wouldn’t give him the rights, so he chose “Cabaret” instead.

I wanted to creep people out, Principe (senior-theatre) said. What improved way to scare people other than by throwing reality at them?

Cabaret centers on Clifford Bradshaw, a writer who travels to Berlin from his native Harrisburg and meets a cabaret player named Sally Bowles at the Kit Kat Klub. The play takes place as the Nazi party is rising to power in the untimely 1930s.

Wagner to WIN X Factor? He may be favourite to go but new Internet campaign is attempting to get him to Christmas number one

He strangely managed to cling on to his spot on the X Factor despite his brash and sexualized recital on Saturday night – and was yesterday dubbed a misogynist bully.

But former lion tamer Wagner Carrilho is now being primed to rocket to the pinnacle of the charts this Christmas due to an internet campaign run by the similar group that last year ruined Joe McElderry’s hopes of topping the charts.

The 54-year-old stunned millions with his bizarre recital of the Spice Girls hit Spice Up Your Life while leering at a troupe of semi-clad women.

The lights go up Sunday for 'A Chorus Line'

Julia Freyer still can’t quite believe her chance.

A native of Grand Rapids, she take up theater studies at Pennsylvania State University, and within three months of graduation, she hit the road with a revival of the longest-running American musical in Broadway record.

And during powerful rehearsals for the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning A Chorus Line, Freyer said, I realized it might be 35 years old, but it actually parallels what we had all just gone through.

What Was The Most Stolen Car In 2009?

What does each little girl dream of? To be a princess. To wear a gorgeous dress and be whisked away in a horse and carriage by a handsome Prince. Emma Dearden’s musical talents have blessed her with the opening to fulfill the fairy tale fantasy in her new role as Cinderella at Brighton’s Theatre Royal.

Glancing over Emma’s lengthy CV had made me rather anxious about meeting the 21-year-old performer. Actress, singer, model, dancer and straight ‘A’ student, Emma is quick on her way to national stardom. After weeks of interview postponements and rearrangement, I gained a glimpse into the hectic lifestyle and competing demands an aspiring actress has to deal with. With an hour to spare from her tiring schedule of casting calls, auditions and rehearsals, we meet in Emma’s local pub, Hurstpierpoint’s New Inn.

X Factor 2010: Katie Waissel promises ‘showstopper’ performance

X Factor finalist Katie Waissel is desperate to confirm that she deserves her place on the ITV show, or some would say just desperate in common.

The singer also known as Lola Fontaine, has formerly starred in her own online reality TV show and had even landed an American record deal, before entering the ITV demonstrate. Many viewers are furious that despite all these breaks, some alleged connections to Simon Cowell’s record label and the reality that she messed up during two of her auditions, Cheryl Cole still chose Katie as one of her peak three singers.

Speaking to This Morning, the 24 year old singer admitted that she has something to attest to the public and said that she can’t wait for people to see that she deserves to be there.

TV Review: Harry Loves Lisa

I have an inordinate liking for Lisa Rinna, one that has a long, convoluted back-story involving her arc on Veronica Mars, opposite her real-life husband Harry Hamlin. So TV Land’s fresh reality show, Harry Loves Lisa, hits all my sweet spots. Lisa Rinna being outrageous in my living room on a weekly basis? Yes, please.

What’s more surprising about the demonstrate is Hamlin. He’s always seemed like a stunted action movie star, someone whose career never actually took off, stranding him at C-plus level. Yet in real life (or “real” life), he comes across as a pleasant, intelligent man. His lisping impression of a gay director request him to drop trou during an audition for Equus in the '70s is borderline offensive, but he also played gay in the 1982 film Making Love, a film that comes up continually in interviews with him and which Hamlin has stated frequently he is proud of.

The Wanted’s Jay Criticises Cheryl Cole

Jay from The Wanted is the newest star to question Cheryl Cole’s choices on The X Factor.

The Girls Aloud star has caused debate by putting through both Katie Waissell and Cher Lloyd, despite dodgy final auditions.

And it seems one fifth of the hottest fresh boy band around agrees with many members of the public.

He said: What is the point of doing your audition if it is not base on that? If she had made up her mind previously then why not everyone just go after the first audition and not bother auditioning again.

Sometimes it's a bit heart-wrenching when you look at someone gets crushed but it gets people talking.
